Mentoplasty is a procedure that can be done in two ways: The first and easiest one is with an implant insertion made of silicon , goretex, etc. We´ll explain to you the caracteristics of each one of them with their advantages and disadvantages. The second one is the modification of the structure of the chin by doing an osteotomy.This procedure doesn´t need an implant, just a tiny titanium plaque to temporary stabilize the bone modificaction. Generaly the mentoplasty takes an hour or so , even though sometimes the procedures can take longer. During the surgery the doctor insertes through a tiny incision well-hidden beneath the chin an implant, adapting it to the pacient´s chin original shape.And then it has to be sewed.  The final result will depend on how the pacient´s structure and the cares that he or she follows after the surgery
